The Municipality

Teteven municipality is located in North-Central Bulgaria in Lovech District. The Municipality consists of 1 town (Town of Teteven) and 25 villages. The altitude above sea level varies from 340 to 2,198 m. The highest point is Vezhen peak, the third highest peak in the Balkan Range. The climate is moderate continental. A characteristic feature is the large percentage of forest areas - 68%. Teteven Municipality is the owner of approximately 190,000,000 sq. m of good quality forests.

In the Central Balkan Range National Park 21 worldwide endangered vertebrate are preserved.
