The village:
Gorsko Slivovo is located right in the middle of the famous plateau of „Devetaki“, in the hilly area near the beutiful waterfalls of Krushuna, right at the north side of the Balkan Mountain.
Some of the most important landmarks of Gorsko Slivovo are the caves „The little Garvanica“ and „The big Garvanica“, so is the dam-lake Pustia. There are several more caves in the area, which makes it particularly picturesque and unique.
Gorsko Slivovo is a wonderful village with very well-kept center and streets, surronded by the beautiful nature of the plateau of Devetaki, whose fresh air is salubrious for the respiratory organs.

The Municipality
The Letnitsa Municipality is located in the northernmost and flat part of Lovetch District (North-Central Bulgaria). The municipality consists of 1 town (Letnitsa) and 3 villages. The conditional boundary that separates the Danube Plain from the Northern Balkan Range passes through its territory.
Letnitsa is developing as an agricultural area. The favourable climate pre-determines the growing of grains, fodder, industrial crops and fruit. Private farmers grow raspberries and strawberries in an area covering 1,000,000 sq. m.

The biggest regional tourist attraction site, which has been declared a natural site, is the Marata Forest Park. It includes: The Kroushoun Karst Waterfall, which is approximately 15 m high; the biggest water limestone cascade in the country; the second-biggest water cave and a number of other caves. A mineral spring with 15,5 l/sec debit was discovered very close to the Forest Park. The water temperature is 58°C.
The District
Lovech Region is situated in central northern Bulgaria. It is bounded by the regions of Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Plovdiv, Sofia and Vratza. Its territory is a combination of plains and hills. Nature has been very generous to these lands where the Balkan Mountains and the Danube Plain meet, the Vit, the Osam, the Vidima Rivers run together with their tributaries. There are 8 natural reserves and protected areas. The unique natural reserves of Steneto (one of the largest in Bulgaria), Boatin and Tzarichina, are the largest part of the Central Balkan National Park.
The region is rich in karsts springs (Glavna Panega near village of Zlatna Panega is the second largest in the country) and remarkable caves: Devetashka Cave (one of the largest ones), Sueva Dupka, the caves in the vicinity of Karlukovo, Tabashka Cave and Vassil Levski Cave near Lovech.
In the region there are over 600 monuments of culture, many of them dating from the Middle Ages and the National Revival period – the Troyan and Glozhene Monasteries, the architectural historical reserve of Varosha, the famous Covered Bridge, designed by master Kolyu Ficheto. The oldest monuments of culture are from the Paleolithic Age discovered in Devetashka Cave and the Temnata Dupka Cave near Karlukovo. The Silver Lukovit Treasure is an outstanding work of the Thracian art.
The spa springs in Shipkovo, Slivek, and Krushuna, as well as the mountain resorts of Teteven, Troyan, Apriltzi, the villages of Ribaritza, Oreshak, Cherni Osam and the locality of Beklemeto offer excellent conditions for balneological tourism and ecotourism.
