The village:

Dobromirka is a small and peaceful village, located in a triangle between the towns of Sevlievo, Pavlikeni and Veliko Tarnovo. Nearby is the river Rositsa and one of the biggest dams in Bulgaria- Aleksander Stamboliiski Dam. The area is hilly, surrounded by a broad-leaved forest, which in combination with the dam lakes makes it a real paradise for hunters and fishers. The climate is temperate, with fresh and cool air, salubrious for the respiratory organs.

The village is small, with population of about 700 people, most of them Orthodox Christians. All the basic utilities like Post- Office, shops, cafes, pubs, etc. are provided. Regular transportation to the surrounding towns and villages is also available.

The Municipality

Sevlievo municipality is located in North-Central Bulgaria in Gabrovo District. The Municipality consists of 1 town (municipal center Sevlievo) and 52 villages. The Municipality of Sevlievo is close to the geographic center of Bulgaria - 178 km away from Sofia and 283 km away from Varna. It is located on GP - 4 main road and has regular bus services connecting it to Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv, Rousse and others.

Sevlievo region has been endowed by nature with a lot of beautiful places and sights. There are very good sports and tourism facilities: modern stadium, four auxiliary playgrounds, sports hall, tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, fishing and hunting tourism areas in Lugut Hunting Unit. The District

Gabrovo Region is situated in Central Northern Bulgaria, bounded by the regions of Veliko Tarnovo, Lovech and Stara Zagora. The relief of the region is diverse, mostly mountainous. The area of Gabrovo Region covers some middle parts of the Balkan Mountains and the fore-Balkans, the valleys of the Yantra, Rositza, Vidima, Drianovska rivers as well as several kettles and plateaus, and Gabrovo and Sevlievo heights.

The Ruse–Podkova railroad runs through the region crossing the Balkan Mountains and connecting Northern Bulgaria with Southern Bulgaria. The leading sector in the region is industry while stockbreeding is the most developed one in agriculture.

The area of Gabrovo Region has been inhabited since ancient times. There are more than 650 monuments of culture, most of which are related to the National Revival period. The oldest vestiges of life (dating to the Paleolithic Age) are found in Bacho Kiro Cave. Medieval fortresses guarded the Balkan passes (near the villages of Batoshevo and Gradnitza, located in the vicinity of Gabrovo).

Handicrafts thrived in the region during the National Revival period giving rise to the Tryavna Arts School. Master builders, woodcarvers and icon painters became famous for their talent and skills and their fame traveled far beyond the boundaries of the Ottoman Empire.

Dryanovo is the hometown of the greatest Bulgarian builder of the National Revival period, bearing the title of “architechton” – Nikolay Fichev, surnamed Kolyu Ficheto. The icon painters and woodcarvers of Tryavna have left wonderful works of art. Gabrovo Region is also connected with the origins of the Bulgarian secular education beginning with the foundation of Aprilov’s High School
